Re-roofing our house
Steve - Fort Collins, CO
Colorado Roof Toppers went above and beyond the usual with our roof. There were two reasons. 1) We have three solar hot water collectors on the roof. As owner and original installer of these collectors, I disconnected the plumbing, but the Roof Topper crew helped move them out off the way while the south slope of the roof was re-shingled. Then they helped move them back onto their mountings. I reconnected the plumbing. 2) Years ago, we installed a wood burning stove in the basement. This included a metal chimney that penetrated the eave of the roof. As a Do It Yourself-er, I cut the eave and installed the chimney and built a chimney box to give it a more finished look. A few years ago, because of the many wood burning bans, I replaced the wood burning stove with a natural gas stove. Its exhaust vented through the wall and did not need a chimney. I left the chimney box in place until this re-shingling. When I opened up the chimney box, I saw that my work had allowed rot to set in. The Roof Topper crew rebuilt the effected area. They installed new 2x4s to support the eave properly and new sheathing to finish the roof properly. The re-shingling went extremely well. They were punctual, friendly, efficient, etc (all good things!). They helped with the solar hot water collectors and rebuilt the damaged area of the roof. Then they cleaned up very well and were done! All was done on time, schedule and as budgeted.
Wonderful Experience With Colorado Roof Toppers

Jerry in Fort Collins - Fort Collins, CO
As expected ............... Very Good! Professional in all work. One issue that came up was the leaf guard was not fastened as should have been on a few sections. This would allow the snow to push it down and allow leaves to back up. Caesar the foreman corrected it right then. (I noticed it before Caesar had a chance to inspect the work.) Denise checked on the job in person along with Scott inspected on the roof during the installation. Denise was in contact & very quick with responses through out from the initial call that I made to the very end of the job. Clean up was very good. There is a reason that Colorado Roof Toppers have a GAF Factory Certified Master Elite Contractor status. I opted to get the package that got the Golden Pledge Warranty!! There should be more businesses that have the model that Denise & Scott Bart follow. It was a pleasure doing business with Colorado Roof Toppers. Description of work: Re-roof complete house & replace all gutter & down-spouts. Totally professional job.
Can not upload a picture - the program won't let me right now, but the picture I would show is a roof in Fort Collins that had 5 layers of roofing on it. You can see why a complete tear off was needed badly. We also installed new plywood sheathing.
We roofed a home in Fort Collins using CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant Shingles. Can't upload a photo right now - computer is not cooperating.
Finished product in Fort Collins! The roof on this home needed a lot of love - there were 5 layers of existing roofing in some areas that we had to remove. All better and looking really nice with the new CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles that we installed. The shingle color is Georgetown Gray.
Every penetration in a roof must be properly flashed to prevent leaks. You can see here the crew has installed a piece of water and ice around this heater vent pipe, under the shingles, and how they shingle under and around the vent pipe. Looking good! The shingles you see here are CertainTeen Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Georgetown Gray.
This home in Fort Collins had a lot of layers of roofing that had to be removed. When that was done, we had to install plywood to bring things up to code. You can see in the photo up near the top under the roof, the home had what is called spaced sheathing. That was how they did it back when everyone had wood shingles.
This roof being torn off in Fort Collins had areas with up to 5 layers of roofing on it that had to be removed. It used to be a common practice to roof over existing roofing. Not anymore. We now know it causes problems with ventilation and your roof will not last as long it you do that.
One way to increase the value of your home and really upgrade your curb appeal is through the use of designer shingles, like the ones on this roof we installed in Fort Collins. Designer shingles are thicker and come in different shapes to compliment the style of your home. The designer shingles shown in this picture are CertainTeed Belmont Class IV Impact Resistant shingles. They are not only designer shingles with a unique shape, but they are also impact resistant.
Fort Collins now requires that all new roofs be Class IV Impact Resistant roofs. And so, on this home there we have installed CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles to provide some extra protection against hail. The shingle color is Burnt Sienna.
The crew today is busy in Fort Collins installing a roof, gutters, and gutter screens. I highly recommend gutter screens. Who wants to clean gutters? They are an easy way to make your gutters maintenance free. The shingles we installed are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant Shingles in the color Burnt Sienna.
More snow is on the way this week. Are you ready? This home is ready. We installed a new roof on this home in Fort Collins that was hit with hail this past summer. The shingles we installed are Malarkey Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Natural Wood.
