We prefer to install ridge vent to ventilate most attics - ridge vent allows more air to escape the attic than slant back vents do, which are shown here. There are roofs that do not have a lot of ridge line, so they are not conducive to having ridge vent installed. You can see on this roof in Longmont that we added some slant back vents to increase the attic ventilation because there was very little ridge on this roof. The shingles on this roof are Certainteed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant Shingles in the color Burnt Sienna.
As the weather gets warmer, good attic ventilation becomes more and more important. It helps your roof last longer and keeps your attic cooler. Here you can see we have installed ridge vent on this CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant roof in Longmont. Ridge vent allows more hot air to escape the attic than traditional slant back or turtle vents do.

This roof in Longmont is a CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant roof in the color Max Def Pewter. On low slope areas like this patio covering, under the shingles we usually install water and ice shield under the whole area to prevent water from penetrating because of the low slope. Another option is to install two layers of underlayment. In most areas it is code to do one of those two options due to the low slope.
We have had a lot of people inquire about gutter screens lately. They are wonderful - we have them on our home. We install them if we are replacing the gutters when we install a new roof. The brand we use are made by Gutter Rx and they work very well. We installed a new roof, gutters, and screens on this home in Longmont. The shingles are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV shingles in the color Max Def Pewter.

Several areas had some hail last night during the crazy storm that went through. This hail was about 1/2" and pretty dense. Most likely not damage causing. So far the only area we can see that might have had damaging hail along the I-25 corridor is maybe Timnath.
