We just finished up the roof on the duplex in Loveland yesterday. The shingles that we installed are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Granite Gray.
This home in Fort Collins had a lot of layers of roofing that had to be removed. When that was done, we had to install plywood to bring things up to code. You can see in the photo up near the top under the roof, the home had what is called spaced sheathing. That was how they did it back when everyone had wood shingles.
Here you see our crew working on a steep roof in Boulder installing CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Hunter Green.
Picture of the crew this last week installing in Fort Collins. The shingles they are installing are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Georgetown Gray.
This home in Estes Park is ready for winter with a new CertainTeed Landmark roof in the color Driftwood.
Our crew is busy finishing up this roof in Boulder this morning. The shingle they are installing are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Moire Black.
This roof in Boulder was steep and complicated, but the crew did an amazing job on it. Here you see a cricket. You normally see them behind chimneys, but this one is sandwiched in behind that peak you see. It will make sure snow and water do not build up behind that peak. The shingles shown here are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Hunter Green.
This roof being torn off in Fort Collins had areas with up to 5 layers of roofing on it that had to be removed. It used to be a common practice to roof over existing roofing. Not anymore. We now know it causes problems with ventilation and your roof will not last as long it you do that.
Today we got to see how our new rain chain looks when snow is melting off the roof and the water turns to ice. What a work of art!
This picture of a roof we just did in Boulder shows a great example of the components of a roof installation. We installed water and ice shield on the eaves and new edge metal on the rake and eave. The water and ice goes under the rake edge metal and over the eave metal. Then you can see a bit of the starter strip and then the shingles going on. The shingles being installed are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant Shingles in the color Hunter Green.
Summer is officially over! Labor Day came and immediately summer was done. Not much roofing going on today. That is Colorado for you!
This is a great example of what a roof looks like when it has been torn off, prepped, and is ready to have the shingles installed. You can see the water and ice shield on the eaves, in the valleys, around the skylights and the chimneys. You can also see the underlayment up there and the drip edge metal that has been installed on the rake edges. This roof in Estes Park is prepped and ready to be installed.
Gustavo up on the peak of a steep roof the crew was working on this week in Boulder. The shingle he is installing are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant Shingles in the color Hunter Green.
The right time to replace your skylights is when you are having a new roof installed. Having the skylights replaced when a new roof is installed, allows us to make sure that they are flashed correctly and will not cause any leaks. The shingles on this roof in Estes Park, are CertainTeed Landmark shingles in the color Driftwood.
Weathered Wood is the color of the shingles that we installed on this roof in Mead. The shingles are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles.
This home in Mead has a new roof on it that we installed recently. The shingles we installed are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Weathered Wood.
We started the week with some roofing humor, let's end the week the same way. Although some municipalities will allow you to install a new roof over an existing one, it is NEVER a good idea. Best roofing practices include the recommendation that you tear off all existing roofing before you install a new roof. Happy Friday everyone!
A well done cricket is a thing of beauty. A cricket on a roof is an area behind a chimney designed to prevent snow from piling up behind a chimney. You can see one is this picture on a roof in Longmont that we installed. The shingles you see here are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Max Def Pewter.
We have done a lot of work in the Mead neighborhood where this house is due to hail damage. We love being able to serve our local community! The shingles that we installed not his roof are CertainTeed Northgate Class IV Impact Resistant shingles in the color Silver Birch.
One way to increase the value of your home and really upgrade your curb appeal is through the use of designer shingles, like the ones on this roof we installed in Fort Collins. Designer shingles are thicker and come in different shapes to compliment the style of your home. The designer shingles shown in this picture are CertainTeed Belmont Class IV Impact Resistant shingles. They are not only designer shingles with a unique shape, but they are also impact resistant.
